The Selfish Giant, a magical story for all ages, inspired by Oscar Wilde’s beloved tale, performed by the actors of Luceafărul Children’s and Youth Theatre of Iași, Romania
Travelling from Romania especially for this event, the talented Romanian actors bring to life Oscar Wilde’s beloved tale of friendship, kindness, and the surprising ways hearts can change. What happens when a giant decides that his garden belongs only to him?
In this playful and heart-warming production, Romanian director Radu Nica brings Wilde’s classic story to life through a lively mix of acting, storytelling, music, and imagination, with actors effortlessly switching between characters and narrators. Full of humour, emotion, and wonder, it stays true to Wilde’s timeless story while speaking directly to today’s young audiences.
A charming theatre experience for children, families, and anyone who still believes that a little kindness can transform a whole world. The Selfish Giant is a theatrical adventure that reminds us that sometimes the biggest hearts grow in the most unexpected places.
