We’re Hiring: Front of House Assistants

Axis is a community resource centre with a theatre at its heart, in the middle of Ballymun. We host theatre, music, dance, exhibitions, community events and much more, and we are looking for friendly, reliable people to join our front of house team.

The role

Our front of house team are the first people our audiences and visitors meet. You will help make sure everyone who comes to Axis feels welcome, safe and looked after. You will:

•     welcome audiences and visitors to shows, events and openings

•     check tickets, show people to their seats and answer questions

•     help visitors who need extra support or access assistance

•     know the building's safety and evacuation procedures, and help keep everyone safe

•     keep the foyer and public areas tidy and welcoming

•     work as part of a small, supportive team

You will report to the Operations Manager. This role does not include bar work.

About you

You don't need previous front of house experience. We will give you the training you need. We are looking for people who:

•     are friendly and enjoy meeting people

•     are reliable and good at timekeeping

•     stay calm and helpful when things get busy

•     work well as part of a team

•     are 18 or over and eligible to work in Ireland

•     have an interest in the arts and in the local community (a bonus, not a must)

Irish speakers are very welcome to apply.

What we offer

•     €15 an hour

•     a minimum call of 3 hours for every shift

•     casual, flexible work: shifts are offered as our programme needs them, and you can say yes or no

•     mostly evenings and weekends, with some daytime and matinee shifts

•     paid training, including fire safety and evacuation

•     the chance to be part of a busy arts centre at the heart of Ballymun
