Dublin Port 2021-2023

John O’Reilly

Launch Date Thursday June 8th 2023 @7pm RSVP here

This series of Dublin Port subjects began with funding from the Pumphouse Bursary, an initiative between Dublin Port and Axis Centre Ballymun, that funded two of the paintings exhibited.

A large industrial area close to the city centre, Dublin Port is like the backstage area of daily life. Due to it's constant development adapting to technological and economic changes, the paintings aim to record the unique designs and atmospheres of the Port’s fascinating structures and overlooked areas that may be updated or replaced in the future, with similar attention and appreciation of the protected 19th & 20th century port structures of North Wall.
