Are you interested in running a café in Axis Ballymun?

Axis Ballymun is an arts and community resource centre at the heart of Ballymun. With a theatre, creche, conference centre, gallery studio spaces and a café space, Axis is a hub of creativity and community in the area.

From theatre events and festivals to weekly dance classes, large conferences and daily meetings, Axis has a footfall of approximately 45,000 people annually.

Axis is inviting expression of interest for the operation of its café space for a period of one year, with the option of renewal every two years thereafter.

The café must be able to cater for Axis Ballymun’s audience members, community members, artists, meeting attendees and other visitors to the building by providing the following:

-            high quality meals, snacks and refreshments throughout the day

-            takeaway options

-            bar service for our busy evening programme

-            catering for conference events in the Axis building

-            high quality, daily, nutritious creche meals service for (currently 42) children in the Axis Creche including catering for allergies and special dietary needs and working to HSE & Tusla guidelines in collaboration with the creche manager

There will be an emphasis on providing a quality café offering, that embodies good quality food, efficient service, cleanliness, climate awareness and is cost effective.

The venue holds a Publican’s Licence and runs a bar service in conjunction with scheduled events. We would expect the successful applicant to provide this service, as well as offering limited evening food options.

Please note the proposal is not to run an evening bistro/restaurant business, rather a café that also opens as a theatre bar in conjunction with performances and events.
