Axis All Areas Ticket offer The brilliant Scene and Heard Festival has started today in Smock Alley Theatre and runs to the end of the month. It is an amazing festival of new work across loads of genres. To celebrate this and to continue our support of new work and audiences we have purchased a dedicated festival pass under our ‘Axis All Areas’ audience scheme. This means that there will be a FREE ticket available for EVERY SINGLE SCENE + HEARD SHOW (all 109 of them!) on a first come, first served basis from Smock Alley courtesy of axis We are keen to spread the word among folk who might not usually get the chance to catch new work and indeed the wider arts community. Pop in or phone the Smock Alley box office on the day of the show you're interested in. Please help to spread the word!

Six years ago our Arts Development Manager, Emma developed a new dance programme for the women of Ballymun. Over the years the programme has grown and now women from as far as Drogheda & Bray travel to Ballymun every week to be part of this unique project. Over 157 women (from 17-75+) have been part of THREADS over the years. Last year Emma handed the ‘baton’ to a colleague who now runs the programme.

It was wonderful having the current Laureate na nÓg, Sarah Crossan with us in Ballymun for the morning. Sarah is a poet and novelist and is Ireland's fifth Laureate na nÓg (holding the title from 2018 until 2020). Her theme as Laureate is hashtag#WeAreThePoets, a two-year project inspiring young people to express themselves through poetry and verse.
