Axis Green Arts Department

In 2019, axis established the Axis Green Arts Department, led by lead artist Maeve Stone. Maeve Stone is a director, writer and activist working in theatre and film, whose work emphasises musical innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration. She creates work that responds to issues of climate, race and revisits the canon with a feminist lens. Her practice seeks out interdisciplinary collaboration, pushes for new form, and establishes an intersection of method, aesthetics and political engagement. 

The Axis Green Arts Department works on creative community and arts projects exploring how we engage and interact with our environment, and supporting the development of sustainable creative practices. 

In 2022, the Axis Green Arts Department worked on a number of projects, merging the worlds of the arts and climate adaptation and mitigation. This work will continue into 2023.

The Community Vaults exhibition, launched in February 2022, was the capstone of the Green Arts Department in 2022. Download the project report here:
