Theatre

Our 200 seater Theatre space is a multi-purpose performance and conference space. The theatre has hosted international and national touring theatre companies, musicians such as Glen Hansard, Damien Dempsey and Maria Doyle Kennedy as well as a host of comedy talent. The theatre is also used by local drama groups, for example, the Holding Court Theatre Company, whose pantomime attracts full houses over the Christmas period.

We love to hear from artists, theatre companies, local people and organisations! 

Programming:

We are always seeking to programme new and exciting work and to bring the best of theatre to Ballymun. Axis loves to support funding and touring applications where we can and is particularly keen to hear from contemporary Irish Theatre, Comedy, Music and Irish Language work. Please don’t hesitate to chat through your upcoming show with the Axis Programming team.

Hiring the theatre:

The theatre is available to rent for conferences, community groups, youth theatres and stage schools. If you have never rented a theatre before we will happily chat you through the process!

How to book the Theatre

  1. Go to the Axis Ballymun booking page (on your right)

  2. Select Theatre – Enquiry.

  3. Choose your preferred date.

    a) If you would like multiple dates, select the first date and time, then click ‘select another time’ until you have added all, then click ‘select and continue’.

    b) If you would like recurring bookings, select the first date and time, then click ‘select and make recurring’ and advise for how many weeks you would like the booking to reoccur.

  4. Fill in the enquiry form with your details and any notes about your event.

  5. Submit the form.

  6. Your request will be reviewed by staff.

  7. Once confirmed, you’ll receive a confirmation email with final details.
