Spiorad: Beo Ballymun
Date: 18th June 2020
Axis Ballymun presents ‘Spiorad’ as part of Beo Ballymun
A special concert featuring Aoife Scott and introducing Sharyn Ward.
Born into the legendary Black Family, Aoife is steadily rising to the top of the traditional and folk music scene, and has long enjoyed success as an established artist in her own right. Aoife has a unique sound. Her music has a broad creative scope but is largely influenced by her own roots in folk and traditional Irish music. Recent Accolades include being named Best Folk Act at the Irish Post Music Awards (IRE). This year already has seen Aoife awarded the ASLR Celtic Music Awards Female Vocalist of the Year 2020, her album reached the iTunes No 1 - Ireland Album Charts and was Album of the Week - RTÉ Radio 1.
Sharyn Ward was a finalist in Ireland’s got talent 2019, and is a brilliant emerging talent on the folk scene. Sharyn is a traveller artist with an extraordinary voice who has gained audience and critical acclaim wherever she has performed. We are delighted to welcome them both to the axis stage as part of Beo Ballymun 2020.
