Axis Ballymun presents

Charlie’s a Clepto

by Clare Monnelly

National Tour 2019

Charlie is a kleptomaniac - the doctor told her.

Reckons it stems from childhood trauma.

But she has the robbin’ completely under control these days.

For real.

She has a bit of a mouth on her, but she’s only trying to be funny, give everyone a laugh, not cause trouble, like. Not today, of all days. She loves that little boy more than she ever thought it was possible to love another human. There’s a lot riding on these 24 hours, and if she keeps her head down, she’ll get him back.

Axis are delighted to be touring ‘Charlie’s a Clepto’ to 14 venues in a nationwide tour in March / April 2019.

First commissioned and produced by Axis in Ballymun in 2017, it then went on to tour 5 other venues nationwide. 'Charlie's a Clepto' by Clare Monnelly was nominated for multiple awards (Best New Play and Best Actress, Irish Time’s Theatre Awards 2018 and Stewart Parker Trust Award 2018), and received overwhelmingly positive audience, media and critical response.

Directed by Aaron Monaghan and designed by Suzie Cummins, ‘Charlies a Clepto’ continues axis's  championing of new writing and we are greatly looking forward to bringing it to a venue near you in 2019.

Tickets for ‘Charlie’s a Clepto’ will be available through the venues we are touring to so keep an eye on their websites....
