It was wonderful having the current Laureate na nÓg, Sarah Crossan with us in Ballymun for the morning. Sarah is a poet and novelist and is Ireland's fifth Laureate na nÓg (holding the title from 2018 until 2020). Her theme as Laureate is hashtag#WeAreThePoets, a two-year project inspiring young people to express themselves through poetry and verse.

Sarah is one of the esteemed guest poets supporting a project we’re currently working on with St Patrick’s Festival – The Words That Bind Us. Sarah will be back in axis Theatre on 16th March performing alongside 25+ young Ballymun poets, writers, musicians and performers.

Sarah was so witty with the young people at Trinity Comprehensive School, chatting to them about all sorts of things from Shakespeare and snogging to confidence and toffee.
