Over the years the programme has grown and now women from as far as Drogheda & Bray travel to Ballymun every week to be part of this unique project. Over 157 women (from 17-75+) have been part of THREADS over the years. Last year Emma handed the ‘baton’ to a colleague who now runs the programme.

Axis has offered mentorship, space, development time and production to a range of theatre artists over the years, becoming a cultural hub on the Northside of Dublin and a space where artists and the public come together and assemble to develop and explore new work and new ideas.

The Arts Guarantee is a new inititiave launched by Trinity Comprehensive secondary school (Ballymun) earlier this year. More of a dynamic long-term 'commitment' rather than an actual project, the school 'guarantees' a number of creative, cultural and arts experiences for each and every one of their students from 1st year right through to 6th year. It's a fantastic and meaningful development from this dedicated, hard-working and progressive school.

DNA (Discover New Arts) is a new autumn project starting in four primary schools across Ballymun this October. Here in axis, we’re firm believers that creativity is in everyone’s DNA, so we’re giving hundreds of young children the chance to explore theirs. Ballymun's children better brace themselves for a fun, loud and messy two months of circus, drama, dance and everything in between.

The HSE (Department of Health Promotion) have just confirmed their support/funding for the next phase of our Creative Space project - an important project exploring young men, mental health & creativity. Following the success of Creative Space 1 & 2, we are now looking to spread our creative wings and take the project to a number of new areas of Dublin - Finglas & the Dublin Docklands later in the year/early next year. Over the next few months we'll be gathering a team of artists, ambassadors and partners for the project and are looking forward to engaging a whole new group of young men from across Dublin.
