Michael Byrne Bursary
The Michael Byrne Young Theatre Artist Bursary
Axis are delighted to announce this bursary opportunity to support the development of a young actor / director / theatre maker from the North West Area of Dublin.
Axis are looking for submissions from artists age 16 – 22 for this exciting opportunity
The successful candidate will get free studio time, mentorship and coaching in a range of contexts, one on one support, attendance at axis rehearsals / tech rehearsals, and a funding award worth €500 towards books / materials / tickets and also the opportunity to attend a range of productions in axis in 2020.
Axis are delighted to be able to announce this award in the name of Michael Byrne, who passed away sadly last year. Michael was loved by so many, was a mentor to so many, was a friend to so many. From his many many amazing Pantos with Holding Court, his Lunchtime shows, his guest appearances and his presence around the building, all bringing joy with his own inimitable good humour and divilment. A star with a twinkle in his eye, we were so delighted when he made his professional stage debut with us in Dermot Bolger's The Consequences of Lightning where he delivered a truly beautiful performance.
We are delighted on World Theatre Day to launch this bursary in his honour
Interested parties should send
email outlining what the bursary would mean to them, any past experience or work, and their name, date of birth and contact details to axisurban@gmail.com
Closing date April 30th 2020
