Philippa works as a choreographer/teacher and is the Director of CoisCéim BROADREACH dance participation programme. Taking up her residency this October, exploring themes and stories about 'work’, Philippa will work towards the choreographic development and performance of a new piece next May 2018 entitled BODY OF WORK | WHAT’S THE STORY?

Local women from THREADS (axis’ Women in Dance Programme) will be invited to participate in a dynamic collaborative process, sharing their own stories and experiences about work and perceived gender associations surrounding work activities to develop a series of lively choreographed narratives for performance.

Meanwhile, in a creative  and boldly physical process using dance, text, and music,  local men will be invited to speak about their own experiences of work and the industries in which men predominate. Working with Philippa and guest dancer Lee Clayden they will explore some of the effects working in these environments might have leading to the development of an original dance theatre piece.

Guest artists Lee Clayden (Ireland), TC Howard (UK), Noelle Brown (Ireland) are also on board to engage the community through dance, theatre, gymnastics and voice.

This residency is supported by The Arts Council Dancer in Residence Award
