Over the years the programme has grown and now women from as far as Drogheda & Bray travel to Ballymun every week to be part of this unique project. Over 157 women (from 17-75+) have been part of THREADS over the years. Last year Emma handed the ‘baton’ to a colleague who now runs the programme.

DNA (Discover New Arts) is a new autumn project starting in four primary schools across Ballymun this October. Here in axis, we’re firm believers that creativity is in everyone’s DNA, so we’re giving hundreds of young children the chance to explore theirs. Ballymun's children better brace themselves for a fun, loud and messy two months of circus, drama, dance and everything in between.

We love collaborating on projects and we particularly love developing new partnerships. So we're really happy to be teaming up with St Patrick's Festival this year to develop a new project for their 2019 festival. There are other key international players on board too - the Scottish Government and The British Council. At the heart of this cultural project is a new Poet in Residence programme between Scotland and Ireland connecting with young people from Ballymun's Trinity Comprehensive School. The project will run from December 2018 to March 2019 with a final showcase presented during St Patrick's Festival 2019. This project will also link into the poetry trail 'Dublin: A Year in Words' in partnership with Dublin UNESCO City Of Literature
